Samburu County has been facing hostilities from neighboring counties like Turkana, West Pokot and Isiolo, despite the fact Samburu hosts Turkana community and Pokots as one of their inhabitants. This has since left areas along the borders without schools and other development activities. Through the collaboration of Radio Mchungaji and other stakeholders like Catholic Justice and Peace Commission (CJPC) whose aim is promoting good governance, peaceful co-existence of communities living in Samburu County we have managed to cover all the activities aimed at bringing peace like intra and inter-community peace initiatives of morans, elders, women, youth and children of different communities in Samburu County and later broadcast as feature stories in the Radio, this has helped to change the perception that once fighting communities cannot live together. A good example is peaceful coexistence of once fighting communities of Pokot and Samburu along the Amayia – Malaso corridor. This feature is about the collaboration between the community members and stakeholders in bringing and maintaining peace in celebration of World Radio day 2020
